This dude made multiple beautiful albums in early 2011 that I bumped all the time as a young man. They were quite popular, made it into Spotify and a major label. His music was inspired by dubstep, but drew heavily from classical music and had a very strong melody. At the time he made quite an imprint on the electronic genre: back then people were all about LOUD clipped dirty bass. This guy brought silence, quiet, and musical pauses back to a community that sorely needed something fresh and new. This was when channels like monstercat, UKF, liquicity, and suicidesheep were in their infancy. I think he inspired and moved them to where they are today, to some extent. And without a doubt he influenced many other accomplished musicians, I could name a dozen that have a similar sound.

Suffice to say, when I heard his music I very much thought he was an up and coming star: I hoped his music would develop even more from his first releases.

Then he disappeared for a few years. The occasional upload would pop up on soundcloud, but they weren't that good and generally were always under 3 minutes long. Now, here in 2019, I look him up and his music is a shell of what it once was. He'll release a half baked remix now and then. Then a few weeks ago he released some crap that had (my wife singing) in the title. And it all clicked.

Many here are completely against marriage. My beliefs aren't that strong, in my opinion there's nothing wrong with starting a family... So long as you do it right.

But this is a perfect example of doing it wrong. If you have a passion, and truly excel at it, to the point where it isn't a hobby anymore... STICK WITH IT. Getting married will destroy whatever greatness you have in your life. This artist probably dropped everything and got a dead-end job just to pay for his Queen's wedding.

And I'm just sitting here, wondering what could've been. And I'm sure he is too.
