I got into a dialogue with a gay SJW friend of mine the other day regarding criticism of the other gender. He says that women can say “men are trash” or they can label men as incels and misogynists because it’s true and men are entitled. He says that because men commit more violence against women than women do to men, women are allowed to make off hand remarks about men.

On the other hand, he also says men shouldn’t be allowed to say things like “women are trash” or “women are shallow” or “women are attention seeking and self centered” because small off hard remarks about women can snowball into violent misogyny. He references domestic abuse statistics and incel shootings as a source for why criticizing women is dangerous and can snowball into violence.

I think both genders should be allowed to say whatever the fuck they want because it’s some real “rules for thee, and not for me” bs when you allow one side to get away with things the other can’t. MOST men don’t commit abuse towards women and all men shouldn’t be censored from expressing their experiences with women the actions of a select few.

How can I argue to him that it’s hypocritical? Are there any numbers or statistics I can reference regarding the hardships men face to show that men go through a lot as well at the expense of women (divorce rape, domestic abuse, etc)?
