My boss told me a week ago that there wasnt any openings or possibilities for me to move up and I have to "wait my turn" in her words.

Fast forward to a few days later she comes in the back during my break and screams I hate men (granted this could be a joke) she then quickly corrects herself and says not all men.

Afterwards she turns to me and say hey so when are you going to start working full time, before I answer she says never? Ok, and walks away. We've been terribly short on people lately and its probably because of the way things are structured around here

I don't understand what's happening but I know I dont want any part in it my instincts are going off like crazy, yes i would love extra money and work more hours but I feel like it's a dead in job with a bunch of empty promises has anyone experienced anything like this? Should I proceed to get full time and start working towards managment?
