Update : I can't get into a shelter with my son because I'm a man

I'm not requesting anything , just providing an update.

We're going to have to relocate. Without being able to go to a shelter or move into an apartment where I can pay the deposit off over time, there's no way I'll ever be able to get us out of this cycle. It's nerve-wracking planning to move to a new city, just me and my son but we really don't have any other options.

I'll hopefully know where we're going for sure by tomorrow at the latest and I'm going to try to leave soon otherwise I'll just end up continuing to pay for hotels and increasing the chances that my son and I will literally be on the street.

Thank you to everyone who suggested couchsurfing and if it comes to it, we definitely will but because it's me and my son, I'll try to avoid that if I can. It also will just prolong our situation. We need to find a place or get into a shelter until I can afford a place.

Hopefully another city will have more resources or at least have space and shelters that allow men to be in shelters with their children.

I hate myself for putting my son through this.

But I'm trying to get us out of this.

I hope I'm able to give a better update soon. I cannot thank everyone who helped us enough. You guys kept a roof over my son's head. There is no way to adequately thank any of you enough for that.
