I'm still in my early thirties but have experienced what I imagine many men have here. I was "lucky" (read: tricked into impregnating a girl who said she was infertile) enough to become a father super early, so my son is now all grown up and I'm still somewhat young.
I went through the separation, the infidelity, the using, the lying, the sleepless nights, the lost custody, and all of that fun stuff. I was fortunate enough to only lose a couple tens of thousands as opposed to hundreds. I guess as dumb as I was, not marrying was the smartest thing I ever did.
Sometimes I get thoughts in my head like, "I'm still young enough to start a family with a nice girl". Then I go onto other subs and read stories about men in their 50's or 60's even, who are now just going through this. For them it's really too late.
My finances are growing. I'm going to the gym more and finding myself less and less mental the longer I stay single. I'm starting to do things I enjoy again without being a stressed out wreck and just going through the motions.
I think it's part biology and part social pressure. Either way, I don't think I can go through what I have a 2nd time. Ultimately, the risk doesn't seem worth the reward. The more I think about it, the more I realize just how rare "good" women are. Not in the NAWALT sense, but in comparison to most chicks.
Stay strong, my friends.
