I never thought about maple syrup on vanilla ice cream, but now that I have I'm going to have to try it.

If you want to do some fun science in the kitchen, try to make Maple Butter. You have to boil pure maple syrup, and you definitely have to spring for the good stuff, to a specific temperature then immediately start stirring it. If you do it right, the syrup will crystalize and turn in to a peanut butter conistency. If you dont, it can turn rock hard and fuse your spoon to your bowl. Anyhoo, you then take your maple butter and put it in some filo dough cups with some bacon and you have an awesome treat.

Man that's way too much sweet for my taste, try vanilla ice cream with olive oil instead of maple syrup, now we are talking.
