It is pretty cringe, and is hijacking the ceremony for their own personal shit, which may be cute on a kiss cam at a sporting event, not so much when people are trying to do their own thing there.

She didn't seem to have a problem with it, and if they worked it out in advance, who cares? But....there is a time and place to ruin your life while holding up the line for everyone else.

It was just a beta move by your average soyboy attempting to lock down a thot. This is a gamble on the assumption she won't reject the proposal and embarrass them both in the process in front of a large crowd.
