What's your horror story from work?

Mine isn't particularly bad, but here goes:

I was a sergeant at a security contract company. I called everyone "kid." Big, small, tall, short, you name it; I called them "kid," indiscriminately.

Then this female officer starts working under me. She was relieving me to check on another post and then head home. "Stay safe, kid!" I said.

I get home and I get a call from the chief saying not to do that again. No more words about it. Just not to do it.

I smoke cigars with this guy, that guy helps me with my car, that chubby guy and I go drinking together, and I have a good rapport with the whole team. She's not invited now. Kept it professional and left it at that.

Not a bad story, but scared me enough to pay further attention in a profession I didn't think I'd have to (at least with my team).

It's a good thing nothing came up when I taught preschool lol
