These couple of years, I've had a good relationship with my Mom. Though I'll admit there were times where I've made it difficult for her by having her take me to the hospital a couple of times within a year, particularly since I get anxious that some ache or odd feeling I'm having in my body that I thought would lead to something worse. Luckily results came back fine but my Dad and her were kind of getting tired of this.

About 8 years ago, I made a terrible mistake in dating this very fake, manipulative woman who spread rumors at a party that I beat her after I broke up with her. Afterwards many close friends and people I use to hang with started treating me like an outcast. There was a case at College since the ex-skank and I use to go to the same school and I won the case. My Mom helped me win my case. The towns the ex and I were from are close to each other and I work close to my hometown. At my work some people use to hang with the same group of friends I had. I heard a group of people gossiping, saying "oh yeah, he use to date her...yeah that's right.." then one of them blurted out "the woman beater!"

I told my Dad about it then my Mom; but my parents both insisted that no one probably knows about what my ex said at work and that those people are probably gossiping about someone else. Then my Dad told me to stop thinking about those other people and said that no matter what they say as he got louder toward me "WOMAN BEATER, THUG," etc.

My Mom told my Dad to calm down and bitched at me. That was over. Then she gave me this odd look as if I was a stranger. I've had experience seeing this type of emotion before as knowing how women can be very impressionable where say a Dude is called Gay, then the chick would then just think of him as gay since women aren't abstract and once they hear a word and person together that association just sticks even if it was meant to be a joke. But in this case it's my Mom naively thinking I'm a woman beater from just something that was said at me as opposed to truly seeing that it was just an example and even moreso knowing in that she helped me with my case at the time and knew I didn't beat my ex. Normally when things were the way before, my Mom and I talk and have a lot of good conversations but after the argument, she wouldn't even look my way in group conversations with family nor want to talk to me. I felt like a stranger at home, I would try to talk and add her in conversations and talk to her but she would just ignore me. It seems so dumb and foolish that just because a word was associated with It's frustrating but reading what I've read from many MGTOW here, they've moved on from having contact with toxic family members or family members that they don't care about or family members that don't even talk to them. If this is the case with my Mom, should I just move on and not focus on having contact with her or find a new way to make amends?
