I've asked "What's the point of existing" within the context of fulfilling my biological function as a member of the species before.

Truth be told I don't agree with propagating my own genes as my only advantage is high resistance to ailments. And this modern ecosystem doesn't give much encouragement legally, financially and emotionally.

As for the social anxiety, I am as much of a recluse as any other minus the fear. I settled for quality over quantity. But to be able to get said quality connections you have to challenge yourself to step out of comfort zones. Which I did.

Not so much now, but I've been there. Can you get away from your family? Sounds like they're not helping. Are you making any effort to think positively or develop positive habits? Unfortunately neither of those really happen on their own, they take a lot of conscious effort, but that in itself becomes a habit and gets easier.
