The critical thing here is that she invited him out and expected the guest to pay for everything the host ordered. That's just fucked up even in the most liberal interpretation of dating protocol. It's literally in her mind "You are obligated to buy me whatever I want all the time or you are a BAD PERSON."

Dude did the right thing standing up to her bullying, now she just needs about a dozen more guys to not bow down and then a couple years of Where Have All the Good Men Gone and maybe she'll pull her head out of her entitled ass. Maybe.
