Daughter hates feminist mother and explains feminism is bs

In my household the subject of affirmative action for women, wage gap, and overall female inequality comes up. My family is quite far leftist on social issues. I however, not so much. In talking about women’s affirmative action I often say to her that (in collages especially) there is no longer a need for it and that I don’t understand why people are still so uppity about it. More women graduate collage than men. The wage gap is only a few tiny percent when considering what women chose to go into. (instead of just plain averages) And that I think it is actually MORE demeaning to be seen as a weak woman in need of scholarships in order to go into the field of engineering and STEM. I say this to her whenever the subject arises. She then simply replies with “you say that but you don’t know what it was like to grow up in my era! In my day those issues were a big deal and I personally experienced them!” I reply, “No. I don’t but women’s inequality hardly exists anymore! Why is it still a big deal?! What on this earth a feminist fighting for that they don’t already have!!!!!!” To this she only ever gets angry and repetitive. Now, I do love my mother but I think she is blinded by a feminist fog. She can’t see that sexism in the workplace / campus hardly exists anymore and believes that men out for power. Alas, with still being a high school student I am bounded under her jurisdiction. I can’t say too much (can’t be disrespectful. Right?) So, for now I am left to share my frustrations with the world of the internet.

Edit: I think people are getting confused. I am fully aware of the women’s injustices all around the world. Those ARE a problem. I just think that in the states there isn’t a great divide like it is explained out to be. To people using rape and modesty issues: men and boys are raped too (less though not by much). And the modesty issue has come a long way! Though not completely gone I think people should put forth their efforts into places that actually need it in the world.
