Okay so let's just dive into it. My ex and I were together for 6 years known each other for 8. We recently separated for a year due to my choosing. She was a bad alcoholic and I couldn't handle it anymore. Well she went the last year sober and a month ago we both decided to get back together and give it another shot. I was living in Montana at this point and her in AZ. Now when I say I love this woman more than life it self that is no joke so when we decided for sure that this is what we wanted I jumped on it and instantly bought a ticket back to AZ and gave my two weeks notice. Well a couple days after I bought the ticket she tells me that she has had a boyfriend. I asked if he was going to be gone otherwise I could just not make the move. She promised he'd be gone and everything would be fine so, being a fresh start I gave her the trust and made the move. Well as you can guess he wasn't gone. So I told her she had one week to get him out of the picture or I was gone. At the end of the week I was on an airplane but to Colorado this time. During my flight we had to make an emergency landing in Albuquerque due to engine trouble and that's when I learned that he moved out that morning. I told her I'd think about it and after a week of him gone and me in Denver I decided to give it another mistake, I mean shot. So I flew back and yep he was gone. And for a week everything was perfect then he showed back up at the door. She freaked out got drunk and ended up letting him move back in. Now we are another week into this shit of me living with what's supposed to be my girlfriend again and this guy is sleeping on the couch. I get this guy "has nowhere to go" but is that really my problem? She spends her time with me, when she is at work it's me she calls on break. It's my birthday that is her phone pin number. (lucky guess is how I know that) but then I saw that this guy is still telling her he loves her in text messages and she's saying it back. While she isn't the one initiating the shit she's still being responsive to it. Am I overreacting? I was very clear that I didn't want some fucked up Jerry Springer bullshit relationship. I feel like I need to cut my losses and leave but I also feel like love is the ability to forgive over and over again. Idk I'm just so lost. Looking for any type of advice possible.
