If you're a psycho like me you live far far below your financial capabilities, which means wide fluctuations in the market have no effect, nor does any sort of career interference.

I've kept my life as such that if the "money" runs out, I can get a job at McDonalds and make ends meet. Minimum wage is sufficient for me with no real lifestyle change.

I did that for years and you end up flush with cash.

The problem with getting married, is that eventually your lifestyle rises to meet your income, and you're paycheck to paycheck. Yeah there might be a week of savings, and maybe a hundred dollars bill somewhere, but rarely do they have $10k+ in cash lying around in case of a problem.

These people generally start selling their assets off at lower rates when the market goes down, which of course will screw you over.

There is no "down" market. You make bank when markets are down, because that's when you can buy in cheap and idiots are selling off things.
