This message is my personal critique of the subreddit and what it has become. I realize my opinion may be unpopular to everyone in this sub but it is something I felt I have had to say for a while, and it is just that...an opinion. I’m not planning on sugarcoating anything, similar to how a lot of guys in this sub don’t sugarcoat their opinions on the subject matter they post about.

In short some people have made this subreddit into their own little misogynistic pinball game where negative views towards women are constantly perpetuated and bounced around. It’s no longer about men forging their own paths and creating their own success in life, but rather about degrading women and doing exactly what radical feminists do: Painting the minority as the majority and calling it fact. This is exactly what radical feminists do to men and it’s disturbing, I don’t see what makes men (or anyone at all) justified in doing this.

I joined this subreddit about 5 months ago because I loved the positivity that was spread around: One of the first posts I saw was a post of a guy who went hiking in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. He enjoyed it so much and he decided to show that joy. He found living without a soulmate much more refreshing and enjoyable and that’s all fine. But recently I have seen a sleuth of posts that are purely degradative towards women: A post that says women cheat all the time, a post that said you should never date ever because women are the cause of every man’s sorrow, even a post that degraded female soldiers to pure attention-whores who care about nothing but their appearance. You wouldn’t say your own mother or daughter were like that so why should you put an overall blanket-label on women in general and call it fact??

To everyone critiquing problematic posts in the comments section you ought to continue. Encourage healthy debate and discussion, and don’t only accept something at face value.

To the moderators (one of whom will likely ban me from this subreddit but whatever) I hope you take what I am saying to heart and reconsider what you find acceptable on this subreddit, it’s the least you could do.

To people posting problematic things, keep in mind that there are women out there who do perpetuate problematic behavior, that I do not disagree with. They should be dealt with accordingly. But there are also good women out there trying their best to have a good lifestyle and live their life with a little hope and dignity and it does them no justice when you perpetuate degradative blanket statements about them. Stereotypes are always an issue, whether by radical feminists towards men or by problematic men towards women.

This has been my critique of this subreddit. Take it or leave it, your choice. I will likely be unable to respond to many comments from here on out but you can comment whatever reply you want, supportive or not.

PS: This post is not meant to be disrespectful to the venue as a whole and therefore does not violate Rule 1. It is only meant as a critique of what is and isn’t allowed to be posted here. A lot of MGTOW’ers are good people who have their hearts and minds in the right place. This is only aimed at people who perpetuate problematic ideologies that further separate the ability for a good and diverse environment to be formed in real life. A lot of people have been negatively affected because of the exposure to negative posts on this subreddit and I have personally talked to a lot of people outside of this sub who say that their experience with problematic MGTOW’ers is quite toxic. THAT is my issue, not the space but the toxic people within the space.
