I busted my ex wife cheating through a mix-up where she didn't realize her iPhone was syncing to a shared iPad (this was 2012 or so and the tech was still newish). Saw explicit messages and sexts between her and her ex before me, and plans to meet up later in the year while she was meant to be travelling back home for a month (she's from Taiwan). Also reminiscing how much 'fun' they'd had the last time. Apparently they'd been continuing to see each other for the entire duration of our 6 years together. We already had 2 children, 5[m] and 2[f], and they're my spitting image so I'm quite certain they're mine.

This is where it gets 'interesting'...

I confronted her when she got home and said I wanted a divorce, to which she replied 'If you want to destroy this family then I'll just take it away... permanently.' I was speechless. Was she really threatening what I thought she was? I asked her again, and she said 'If you don't want to stay with me or the children, then there's no reason for us to be on this earth anymore.' I went numb. Frozen. I'll never forget that feeling or those words. They are burned into my memory forevet..

I just told her to forget about it and let's go to bed. Then lied awake in the dark with my eyes open waiting for her to fall asleep. Afraid that if I slept she might grab a knife and end me and my children along with me.

After what seemed like forever she finally fell asleep, and I quietly crept out of bed, went out on the porch, and did the only thing I could think of and called a crisis hotline. I told them what happened, and they said I should call the police and not take any chances with children involved, so I did and went back to bed.

Half an hour or so later I hear a knock on the door and someone saying 'Police. We've had a call about a domestic disturbance. Open up please.' I go to answer and begin to tell them what happened, and before I even know what's happening my wife comes out of the room with a bloodied fucking face crying 'Thank god! Help!! HE'S GOING TO KILL US!!'.

Next thing I know I'm being slammed into a wall with my arm wrenched behind my back and the cops yelling 'On the ground! You're under arrest' and then I'm being hauled away in the back of a cruiser. The whole time I'm saying 'You dont understand. I never hit her! She's crazy and she's going to kill my kids. DON'T LEAVE HER ALONE WITH THEM!!'.

They didn't listen, and I spent the night in a holding cell while they waited to get charged pressed so they could book me. That was the longest night of my life. I didn't care what happened to me, but all I could think about was my kids and whether or not they were still alive.

The next day was the same, and no charges, but also no news of the state of my wife and kids either. Finally, on the second full day in there the bitch shows up at the precinct and tells me that she's sorry and SHE WON'T PRESS CHARGES IF I PROMISE NOT TO DIVORCE HER. I'm just like 'Where are my fucking kids!'.. They're fine. THANK GOD. Biggest relief of my life. I say 'OK', and then she's tells the cops she's not going to press charges and I'm released.

I spent the next 2 years living with that bitch for the sake of my kids. We've now been divorced 4 years, and she took those kids all the way to the other side of the world, along with 70% of my after tax income in alimony and child support. I no longer believe their lives are in danger, but how she treats them is a whole other story and I'm likely about to enter into a lengthy legal battle across continents to try to get them away from her because I'm afraid she's doing irreperable damage to them. But that's a whole other story for another time...

I did have a lovely day today taking them for rides on my motorcycle and playing ball in the park, even though I had to fly 12000 km to do it. But it was worth every penny.
