What's presented as an innocuous spur-of-the-moment happy moment, whimsically sprung from the heart of a manic pixie dream girl, actually hides an essential truth about relationship power dynamics. You all saw the pain in his eyes, but not all of you understood why. It's not that he's been dragged around doing stupid shit, its that he's losing a battle he doesn't even know he's fighting.

Try imagining the woman in this photo saying something to the effect of "Look at the degree of irrational nonsense I can get this simp to conform to, look at the power of my SMV, I could probably get him to kill himself if I wanted".

They don't even know they are doing it, they excuse with it appeals to "showing off how fun their relationship is". The reality is they are showing off their power level. They are incentivized to manipulate a man into doing increasingly irrational resource-wasting humiliating nonsense, then document it, because its alpha proof in female land. It's the female version of UFC fighters talking shit to each other.

But here's the real kicker, why is she doing this? Why be the alpha female? Because now chad has a minutely higher chance of fucking her instead of someone else. This photo, and the instinct behind it is a hypergamy strategy, it's cheat prepping. And the poor dudes eyes tell the whole story, he knows it in his heart, just not in his head.

TL;DR: unconscious hypergamy is a maze of bullshit, at least gold digging whores are honest.
