"teenagers" is a social construct invented to infantilize you for the longest possible time. At 16 you can already get a job and start your business. Don't waste your best years on those stupid forums and subreddits.

People seek out what they lack. Seeking validation is not desperation. Consciously seeking attention at the expense of dignity and self respect is. And that can be done not only with selfies, but also with a vain self image and material possessions.

When you graduate you will see peoples perspectives take drastic turns.

If you see friends doing to selfie band wagon, and you care about them, engage them in convos, reach out, go on paintball trips, do stuff together and brings you together.

When I was in the army we had young soldiers on the selfie band wagon. This approach was what worked best

I agree with what you wrote but on a side note why would you ever post pictures of yourself on the internet? You don't know whose property it will become and what they will do with it. Especially now with deep fakes and false flags and shit.
