Tbh, the author makes a hasty generalization about the causes of civil war. Granted, it's one of the most hotly debated topics social sciences, but there are broader issues in the backdrop here, like political instability, distrust, and disproportionate allocation of resources. Still, it's fascinating how competition for women--one of man's most highly coveted resources--fucks with our lives. There's really no Utopia that can reliably rectify this shit.

Sometimes the state of affairs is more equitable, and cultural norms (values such as infidelity and divorce), resource distribution, and technological development can completely dictate the dynamic. In the modern West, the state, progressive norms, and advanced IT are increasingly placing enormous pressure on the bottom 80% of men to compete for women, whether as longterm or sexual partners. Whether it's Chad or the rich aristocrats, there is no sure way of permanently ameliorating this problem because it's the nature of the game--the course of evolutionary biology.

It's all a big joke. There's no point in propagating the species and continuing to play this game.
