Working my first “real” job at an actual company and I am baffled by the amount of hate towards learning. Mainly in younger guys and girl.

One guy almost blew up because he insisted he hates listening to books and learning. The other two coworkers backed him up by saying it’s useless after college. I just nodded and decided not a person I want to be around.

The other one said she likes listening to audiobooks when she drives. “Oh like learning stuff?” And she immediately got flustered and said no she only does fiction and comedy. Everyone else backed her up.

I’m just curious if there is an inside secret at work about being ashamed of reading good self help books?
