The common tactic for dealing with terrorists is to never let them think they won. This means acting as if their attacks never happened and going about your life as if everything were normal. However, that's only done when you're confident you can out-number and out-gun them if things were to escalate.

But what about how men deal with women of today's society? The population is roughly 50-50 and the incidence rate of "terrorist attacks" is greater than the chance of you not being "attacked" at all. The probability of at least one of the following happening to you is greater than them not happening:

Divorce rape (you lose your hard-earned money, assets, and children; this usually leads to depression and/or suicidal ideation) = at least 50%

False accusation (rape/assault; this ruins your life and could send you to prison if you don't have solid evidence to prove that her claim is false (which is not how the system should work)) = no statistic, but cases are clearly becoming more prominent in the dating scene

Heartbreak (she cheats on you/"discovers a better guy"; i.e., another orbiter she's been talking to since you guys were together is now more interesting to her) = immeasurable, but very common based on observation

She wants you for your money and leaves if your income falters. You wasted your time and fell in love with someone who never cared about you = also immeasurable, but not uncommon

You date a psycopath and she assaults/kills/stalks you (this one's really rare, but it's still a possibility)

Living life in fear means worrying about the less-than-1% chance of something bad happening, but the chances of at least one of these happening is greater than it not happening at all (divorce and false accusation rates are on the rise). It seems like the most rational option is to GYOW.

Anyone have any dissenting opinions to share? Did I miss any? Let's keep this civil.
