Feels good man not being married. He wasted 15 years working for 150k in a high stress job and what does he have to show for it 20k in credit card debt, no retirement, 6k for rehab, a 40 year mortgage, and a bunch of other bullshit. He is probably pushing his 50s and he has nothing to show for it plus his wife is pushing 50 too meaning she is now unfuckable.

What I think is more telling is how small his savings and retirement accounts are in relation to how much me makes -- that's just the cost of getting married I suppose.

Between the savings and retirement accounts he had ~70k for let's assume is a decade of work. I have almost that much in my savings and retirement and that's making ~1/3 of what he does and taking lots of breaks in the last decade.

If I made 150k, I'd bring home around 110k after taxes. After rent, gas, incidentals, etc... I'd be netting around 75--80k/year...and that's if I were splurging on eating out regularly (I usually cook at home).

Women and families just don't fucking make sense financially -- and that's even if your wife or kids don't have drug/gambling/alcohol problems.
