Hi everyone,

I see fellow men here posting about the fancy cars they buy, nice houses they got, places they're going on vacation etc. I understand the concept of it. They're proud of their accomplishments and they're showing what they're able to do it without a woman chaining them down and stealing their money. I think it's great!

But is there anyone out there that has the OPPOSITE approach? Like me for example. With my ex, it was go go go go, buy this buy that, let's go here for the weekend, blah blah. Spend spend spend. Now that I'm solo. I've gone the opposite direction. I enjoy my modest 1 bedroom apartment (yeah I said it, apartment :) ). I prefer not to travel, but to stay where I know the indoor plumbing works and the water is safe to drink. I went without internet for 9 months. I don't own the latest gaming system (or any for that matter), or huge TV mounted on the wall, my computer is over 10 years old. I don't own a smartphone and my cellphone won't even do texting. My last car died last year with 200,000+ miles on it. Instead of purchasing something nice and fancy, I purchased a single owner 2005 Kia Spectre with less than 100,000 miles on it for $2800. And so on and so on.

I'm not writing this to brag or say one is better than the other. I'm just wondering are there any guys who went the opposite approach after going solo? The minimal approach?
