My life is more or less a constant struggle between wanting a relationship and female validation and wanting the freedom from being controlled by someone who doesn't know the definition of "reciprocation" or "team effort". Relationships in 2018 are a one way street for most men and while they feel good in the short term, they're a nightmare on a larger scale. Most of em' anyway. But I'm still a primate and I can't completely turn the companion seeking switch off for good.
I have to be honest with myself though. Yes, Im willing to be spend the majority of my time doing what she wants to do, but the case is hardly ever that. Its usually a never ending parade of her stuff followed by days on end of criticism or silent treatment about how I spent too much time working on my car or not enough time on her honey dos. Its been every relationship. When I get really lonely, I have to take a step back and look at the larger picture and see that I just spent two days assembling a motor , guilt free. I can go to the range and slay targets for four hours if I wanted to and I wouldn't hear a word about it. Again, no I wouldn't be doing that in a relationship but as I said, Its ever a situation involving compromise. I realize that if I was in a relationship, right now, instead of doing my thing I'd be planted firmly on a couch every night in front of the Kardashians or drug to disneyland while I pretend I like the whole thing.
Right now, I choose my stuff. I choose me. Because Ive the only person who values me is me, and maybe my kids, who are probably the only two people who are completely worthy of my time. Other than that, I'll let these other guys chase and spend their resources on these girls hoping she'll reciprocate their effort, likely to no avail while the same girl breaks off a piece for the bad boy felon or thug who invested no effort into her, 45 minutes or later after meeting in a bar.
I'm just choosing to invest whats left of my resources solely in myself at this phase of life. Not some entitled monster. / Rant
