So, some background. I’m a 20 year old college soccer player. I’m a decent looking guy (not trying to come off as some chad) and I’m a fairly rounded student. This is my second year at this school and last year was quite possibly one of the best years of my life. I met the girl of my “dreams” got an athletic scholarship and I was going to college. What more could a young man wish for right? So last year I met this girl who I’ve always seen at the mall, and I always thought she was so gorgeous but out of my league (I have a bad habit of bringing myself down). I finally decided to talk to her, because I was leaving for my preseason and thought that I might not get the chance again. We immediately hit it off, it was like a dream. She was so kind, sweet, and thoughtful she wasn’t some materialistic thot which I’ve become accustomed to at my age. I knew that she was the one for me so after a couple of weeks of dating I decided that I wanted her to he my girlfriend. She would travel 6-7 hours every week with my mother just to see me play. I couldn’t believe I could find a woman who would do that for me. Her and my mom had a great relationship and she would visit my mom and spend time with her. Nothing made me happier. She was the one for me

Flash forward to this September. Everything I thought was going well we’d argue here and there but every couple does. My love for her never wavered and I was so happy. I drove 3 hours back home so that I could visit her and we had a good time but something felt weird it wasn’t the same. I decided to brush it off thinking it was nothing, but on my way home I get a text pretty saying she was leaving me. I was fucking devastated. Why. Why did she do this to me I didn’t understand. I cried and was so angry. How could she do this to me? I’ve done so much for this girl. I took a ticket for her father because he’s illegal and I didn’t want him to get deported so I took the blame. She also lied about being married to get papers for her and her family (before she met me). She travelled so much with my mom just to see me play. I was even going to quit soccer just so I could move back to a school closer to home so that I could be close to her and this is what she does. And the worst part was her excuses. My mom moved decided to move in with her boyfriend an hour away. So my ex tells me this “I don’t think we can date because you’re going to live far away now”. Which makes no sense since I already live 3 hours away for school and I was willing to stop soccer just to move to a school close. She also tried saying “I’m doing this for your own good” which is also bullshit because only I know what’s best for me. What also made it worse was that she still “loved me” and still wouldn’t to be apart of my life, not as my girlfriend. How can she expect me to just act as if that year of my life didn’t happen. And I know you guys will say a year isn’t that long but it was one of the best years of my life. How selfish can she as to suggest that? Even after her “reasons” which weren’t really even reasons she couldn’t even tell me straight up why she was doing this.

It’s been about 2 months since she left me and because of it I was really in a bad place I was performing poorly in soccer and school. I shut myself off from the world I was really taking it badly. Now I’m much better I’ve recovered my grades and started to help my team win games again, but from time to time I drift back into that dark spot and I sometimes want to call and here her, but I know my worth and will never take back someone who’d just toss me aside so easily. I’ve blocked her and her friends from everything and it really helps not seeing what she’s been doing. But I can’t shake this feeling and I need to.

Sorry if there’s spelling and grammatical errors I just wanted to get this off my chest I hope you guys understand. I’ve been debating this but I see how good of a community this is and I see how we support each other as men. Have a good day my friends, and thank you for your support.
