This is also one of the reasons boys are being ruined in families, particularly when raised by single mothers. Their parenting style is based entirely on dominance, subjugation, and demands for obedience. It's a strong (both mentally and legally) man who provides the principled backbone of a family. Until women can no longer (literally) stab the man in the back with little consequence whenever they get the urge, families will remain weak and fragile, with boys cowed into submission and girls taught that it's the right and proper thing to do.
