The show has great cinematography and acting, and is prised as amazing. Yet, if you dig deeper you see immediately that this show has horrible story or horrible women. How anybody sane could feel anything positive for the main character is beyond me.

  1. Cora Tannetti, main character. Slut that fucks first alpha Chad (J.D.) that comes in (before that she rejects guys with good character, and great jobs). J.D. wraps her around his finger with pleasant manipulative words. He keep her ex around too. He is a drug dealer, and deals with other strange types. Before that Cora, just exploits people for money using online dating. At some point Cora even thinks to kill her sister, or twice. She contributes to her sister death in major way. After everything is done, she find a beta bux guy (Mason Tannetti) and marries him. His is working guy, with decent character that cares about her, but she feels miserable and doesn't do anything similar to what she felt to the Chad. She often denies him sex, or later in the story lie to him all the time. Mother of one, and her job is just a pure accident, due to meeting with Mason.

  2. Fay, wife of detective Harry Ambrose, when everything suddenly goes right in her marriage, she decides unilaterally on breaking with Harry, for real out of the blue, without any explanation, or her tought process shown.

  3. Phoebe Lacey, Cora's sister. Pathetic, weak, goes to bed with first guy (Frankie Belmont) she ever meets (in an orgy never the less), and that kills her too. The only thing that make you somehow feel for her, is that she is better than her sister, and is basically a victim of her mother religious beliefs. And she is probably going to say anyway, so she want to live at least for the moment.

  4. Captain Anne Farmer, just annoying and complaining bitch, feeling superior to everybody, and exploiting authority without explanation "because I said so".

  5. Elizabeth Lacey, Cora's mother, religious crazy women, that abuses her children, and gives them nothing from life. Makes her husband equally misserable, and denies sex (and that makes him cheat with a neighbor).

  6. Maddie, another slut, manipulative, etc. She supposedly later gets clean, gets married and have a child. Enough said.

Even side characters like doctor doing hyphnosis on Cora, and other wife's are annoying.

The show is so weak in the story and real motivations digging. Show tries to show Cora as a victim of her religious mother, J.D., drugs abuse and then later medial abuse by Frankie's dad. But I don't buy anything of this, Cora is primary person being responsible for deaths of Phoney, Frankie and probably J.D, but show tries to paint her as a loving person, that was out of control when she killed Frankie. BS. To do more propaganda that women can do anything and will have a pussy pass.

The only decent women characters are Sergeant Caitlin Sullivan (great moral code, can admit bad etc), and Margaret Lacey, Cora's aunt (down to earth, helps Cora against her mother, but doesn't do enough I would say). But even that is hard to say, as we know so little about them.

PS. Men are not angels in the show either, but show doesn't try to present them as such.

The subplot with Harry, his wife, and the whore she sees, literally plays no role in the story. No idea why it was there.
