For sure many studies have been done to prove males on average can work longer hours (presuming this is what you meant by working harder) and be fatigued less due to something about their red or white blood cell count I think (I’m just going from my vague memory here) …

To advertise a 12 hour shift-work position for example and declare that only males will be accepted actually makes the presumption that ‘all’ females on the planet have less endurance than the weakest male, which of course is not true, it’s just profiling them.

People should be judged on their qualifications and experience fitting the job specs. An algorithm would always pick a certain percentage of each gender if the parameters were set correctly. Parameters can be biased though as well. In Australia the main catalyst for hiring women only now in Police was in the past they did a work around where they listed that to be a cop you had to be over a certain height, even though it didn’t have enough baring on the position to be relevant – this was purely to stop women from applying , but of course there are still x percent of women that would still be taller than the minimum height requirement so it doesn’t filter out all. This would be the case even if an algorithm was used.
