Only go to college if you are going to law school, Med school or entering a STEM field. Otherwise it’s not worth it.

If you don’t know what field you’re going into then the military might be a good choice. But whatever you do don’t get married before you enter. I have too many friends get completely destroyed getting married before going to camp.

I’m 20. Started going to college and then decided to stop and get my certifications to go into firefighting. Once i do that I’m planning on joining the national guard as well. If you’re really interested in joining the military, the Air Force (assuming you’re in the US) is a great option. You’ll graduate BMT and your technical training with a college 2 year degree and then they’ll pay for you to finish the other 2 years if that’s what you decide to do. The only reason I’m not in the Air Force right now is because i wanted to stay near my family.

Don't do accounting. Wasted my education on that at my mother's behest, only to finish and find out that my degree is basically just an invitation to get professional certification like CPA. Meaning my degree is a worthless piece of paper to spend more years getting other worthless pieces of paper.

I'd focus on a trade and/or specialty in STEM...Mostly Computer programming, mechanical engineering and electronics.Also learn about finances, taxes, law, philosophy, psychology and crypto and any other field on the side for fun! Focus on solid skills such as business, computers, math, science, accounting and law!

Scout for opportunities in your area, see what's doing well, which businesses are desirable and target them , just doing college mindlessly without proper target makes no sense at all.

Look at where you are in life, then where you want to be. What are your passions? Do you like working with pliers and screwdriver to get stuff built? Do you work with your mind?

The military is an option, but keep in mind that the military isn't a picnick. You will not be free there, but you will learn skills and discipline, and get paid while you do it. It isn't a bad idea for some people, but it isn't for everyone.

Trade school is a great option. Electrician, plumber, welder, heavy equipment operator, machinist and many more. You will get out of school with minimal debt and will be able to get a good paying job relatively quickly

You should do something that require skills and at the same time something that you find easier to do than other people. - You are strong in mathematics ? Study stem or cs at college. You are skilled with your hands ? Take a certification in something relevant. In any case, do not forget to network/make friends in your trade... In todays world, your network will change everything for you and your career.
