This post is a bit of a response (but not necessarily a disagreement or repudiation) to a recent post entitled "THIS IS FIGHT CLUB."

TLDR #1: The first rule of fight club is made to be broken. It exists to protect the individual and to remind him not to say things that are not acceptable in polite society. If you must recruit, always protect yourself and only open the door for those that are ready to walk through.

TLDR #2: Only using TRP for game is not realistic for many men who have been shown the truth. Political beliefs flow naturally from the understanding of RP truths. It is ok to have both a self-help wing and a political wing of the movement, with individuals choosing their own level of involvement.

I sense a great internal struggle going on in the hearts of most men here. I really think that most of us are idealists deep down that have been forced to bury that idealism under a mile of icy pragmatism in order to deal with the reality of the world. It is particularly difficult on us because, in contrast to many movements on the left, we perceive the fact that society is almost certainly moving away from our beliefs over time, not towards them.

We talk about the first rule of fight club, and it is a good one, but even in the movie the when Tyler Durden scolds the men for talking about fight club, it is partially a tongue in cheek admonishment because he is of course happy to have greater numbers. I can't tell an individual man here he must keep his views completely to himself, because that is just not realistic or healthy. Maybe some people here can perfectly observe Law 38 like emotionless machines, but most men are going to need some sort of emotional and intellectual outlet that will help them keep their sanity. Additionally, if we are not bringing in new people, then we are stagnating and dying. I know a lot of people don't care because they view this as purely a self-help or manual or a way to get laid. I don't think there is anything wrong with that at all, but we also can't deny that many men here are hungry to expand the ideas, because well, that is how we are programmed. More importantly, there is no reason that both groups cannot peacefully cooperate and co-exist because our goals and beliefs are still broadly in line.

To those who are in the latter camp, the best advice is to always be on the lookout for like-minded men. You don't go blabbing around to anyone. You don't tell your boss or your girlfriend's friends what you think. You don't ever jeopardize your career or social standing. There are definitely ways though to sniff out groups of guys who are already red-pilled, or who are, how shall we say.... ripe for conversion? For anyone that was in a fraternity, how did you recruit guys? It's the 10-80-10 rule. 10% of guys will always want to join, 10% of guys will never join, and 80% are malleable. To the middle 80%, you don't just come out and say "hey, you wanna join a frat?" You hang out, show that you have things in common, and provide value. You only very slowly reveal your intentions.

For those with political goals, it is also important to understand that it would just be suicide to conduct a frontal attack at this time. The enemy forces are entrenched on the high ground. They are holding all the cards. They have tanks and bombers are you are the mujahidin running around with your AK. You must exist within the population. Slowly spread your ideas and grow your numbers and never provoke an engagement you can’t win. Make your presence felt to the population at large whenever possible (not in a personal and identifiable way, but by in a mass consumption way) by posting on red pill and other similar sites, buying red pill books, consuming red pill television and movies where you see them. These things matter. Hell you can even anonymously post comments on MSM articles, if you have the stomach for that sort of thing.

In a broader sense, if the set of beliefs espoused here is going to have any sort of long term success, I suggest that we look to how the Marxists accomplished many of their goals - through subterfuge and selective capture of various institutions. Even today it's not a great idea politically to come out and call yourself a socialist, though acceptance of this is increasing. What the Marxists were able to do though was to quietly capture a few vital segments of American society, most notably academia. They subtly altered their language to make it more acceptable to the population at large. Instead of “controlling means of production” they say “taxing the rich.” Don’t use red pill lingo when you are sounding someone out. Use terms and ideas that are still broadly accepted.

As you can see my post went from very pragmatic and safe things for the individual man who wants to do more, up to a more theoretical ideas of how a movement such as this would have to pivot to go mainstream. I think that the most important thing is that you determine your own involvement. If you just want to improve your standing with women and get in shape, that’s fine. If you want to do that plus seek out like-minded men, that’s also fine. If you think that all this has a political angle, (spoiler alert: it does) the groundwork has not quite been laid for that yet, but someday it might be.

It’s important to remember that things that were once considered insane are today mainstream and things that were once mainstream are now considered insane. If you’ve been paying attention at all for the last 15 years, one thing that should be painfully obvious is that most people believe what they are told to believe. Most people want to fit in to the group, not because they are weak or stupid, but because this desire was imprinted in the genetic code of our ancestors to help them survive. Regardless, the core principals of TRP remain the same. Get in shape, improve yourself and pursue your own goals and desires to become a valuable person, understand accept the nature of women, and don’t talk about fight club! ;)
