Women are sheep who prefer wolves to shepherds. Yet, when they are inevitably bitten and rescued by the shepherd, they ostensibly chastise the shepherd, not the wolf, as they will always want the wolf and resent the shepherd for both failing to be so and their attempts at keeping the wolves at bay. Just as the sheep hopelessly wish to change the wolf’s nature, the shepherd wishes to change the sheep’s. So if you curse the sheep for their own unconquerable ignorance and desires causing their harm, so must you too blame yourself for yours. Become shepherd to yourself and seek no sheep, yet be still able to frolic with stray sheep, if you so choose. Or, change your nature and become a wolf who feeds his own primal desires to his own fill and without regard to sheep, shepherds, or even himself.
