I took French in middle school and I also happen to be a native Spanish speaker, so I find this quite interesting.

In French, as in Spanish, there are pronouns to differentiate not just between the genders but even intragenders. So in French it's mademoiselle for young women, typically unmarried, and madame for older women. And in Spanish it's senorita and senora, although dona can be used for older women as a sign of reverence and respect. And in all fairness in Spanish the only pronoun used for men is senor or the more formal don, although the word for young man, joven, is often used as a informal pronoun, as in el joven Lionel Messi. I'm not aware that French has something similar.

I think in both languages, these pronouns will never disappear for one reason: at some point even feminists want to be treated as ladies. Especially whenever they're married they want others to call them Madame or Dona because they want the attention and adulation even if it hasn't been earned. As for mademoiselle and senorita, we can get rid of those and replace them with the word puta.

Mademoiselle means virgin girl? That's nothing.

In Czech, the alternative of Miss is "Slecna".

I am no etymologist, and I am nearly certain that is not the true origin of the word. But "[Slect]" is the pronunciation of "Svlect", which means to undress. And -na is just generic way to feminize a word (like -ess in acress). So you could say "Slecna" means / sounds like woman who undresses.
