The kid was 3 and confessed that he was really a girl? WTF? Hey I'm sure I did stupid things when I was a little kid like try on my mothers heels or something, but no 3 year old is capable of making such a decision. Poor kid will probably hit puberty and be so confused.

Oh he/she/it understands gender at three even though gender is actually not even well defined as a concept (since it's supposed to be a reflection of brain states disengaged from physical sex or some shit)?

How would that three year old have responded if instead of accepting what was said at face value the mother would have asked one simple follow up question: What's a boy?
