A friend of mine and I were discussing business the other day and he remarked that the worst position to be in is when you are responsible for something yet have no authority over it.

It then occurred to me that this also seems to apply to men in marriage today. All the responsibility, no authority, no rights. And no incentive for a woman to hold up her end of things. Worst possible position you could put yourself in.
