And herein lies why I don't want a relationship.

I have never received emotional, financial or even moral support from a partner. Yet, I am expected to provide it in return. My purpose to quote my ex-wife is to "slave away and make her happy". According to a good female friend, "That's the fate of being a man, you make the money, we spend it". In my experience, Women see me, in the context of a relationship as nothing more than a means of production in order for them to consume.

Maybe coming from a different era (in my early 50s) I have a different perspective, but I think boys being raised by single mothers without a father or engaged, consistent male role model leads to emotionally weak men unable to deal with emotions effectively, i.e., manginas.

Find an outlet for your emotions, channel / harness them in positive ways and learn ways of self-reflection (meditation), for me it was/is creating music, physical activity, motorcycles, boating or a swim in the ocean. I'm teaching my son that his emotions are energy and power that he needs to understand, manage and control through his own will, harness it for positive value otherwise he's wasting that energy. I use the analogy of emotions are like lightning, it's fast, powerful, wasted energy that is often destructive, burns bright and dissipates quickly. The average lightning bolt has about 1 billion Joules of energy that is wasted or causes destruction; harness that energy, control it with your will, and make positive use of it.

In all my relationships with women, I did not bring my emotional concerns to them yet most considered me sensitive because I'd listen, sometimes comfort her other times being the stern father. Looking back, I'm certain it would be seen as weakness by these women, and lower my SMV.
