No, your hormone and stress levels are, not to mention your age. You can't have it all sweet cheeks, maybe you should have gotten married at 20, had some kids, and you could go into finance afterwards.

No one can have it all in your line of work. I wonder, do you question why there aren't more women in the boardroom when being a vice president is this difficult?

I am at an age when you might expect to have a child. - I would certainly like to have a child, but I believe that my banking career is making it difficult for me to conceive.

You're 35 or so. A really late time to get pregnant. You have trouble because you didn't want kids, and now you do. You could have done that when you had a higher fecundity, but you chose a high paying career. Welcome to a man's world. You wanted it, you got it, I guess someone told you it was just a bunch of patriarchy and high paychecks and three martini lunches with bankers hours and boys clubs. I guess you were lied to. I wonder who lied to you.

When you're a woman in your mid-30s, fertility is not a given. If you're working 80 hours a week and are exhausted, conceiving a child doesn't necessarily happen as easily as you might think. I know, and I am not the only one to have this problem.

Have a big career, or have a loving family. You cannot have both. I had a nice mid six figure career, because I didn't get married and have kids. It was highly stressful and gave that up for a boring old, do-nothing low six-figure career.

But then I never wanted it all, but apparently you do.

For women in finance, the heavy workload, the high stress and the lack of sleep not only make it difficult to find a partner, but are a recipe for hormonal imbalance and infertility.

It's almost like women were sold a lie by someone. You cannot do a highly stressful career (wonder why they pay you so much?) and spend all the time and energy making and raising babies. That is a lie.

The longer I work in banking, the more that I feel that I'm being made to make a choice: the ability to conceive, or the opportunity to become an MD.

Yeah, those are the decisions. You know that nice mid-six figure career which made me wealthy in 99% of the planet and only moderately wealthy in countries like the U.S. and Japan and places like that? It's because I didn't go out fucking whores in clubs, getting married, having kids, having to do education, and stay up 90 hour weeks for months at a time, and not having much fun, so I could be successful and retire early and enjoy my life.

You chose the same thing, but now you've got the urge to breed at around the age I retired.

I'm sure with your income, you can find some stay-at-home house simp to procreate with who'll cook and clean and do things while you're gone 80 hours a week on your oh-so-precious career and you'll get the joy of reading the cliff notes of your children growing up. But you'll get to that board room in ten years, just like a man.

My male colleagues don't have this dilemma. Not only are they able to have children easily (often with women who work outside banking) but their ability to start families is making it even harder for female bankers like me to do the same.

That's a lie and you know it. You can do the exact same thing, but your hypergamy won't allow it. You cannot keep a poor house husband, that would be an insult to your social status. You need that CEO. Should have thought about that when you were 20 if that's what you wanted.

In the past few years several of my male colleagues have started families. They all take paternity leave (usually for around a month, sometimes for longer) and when they come back they often expect to work a bit less.

That's what you women wanted, less work (but no less pay), so now you're just bitter that guys also can take advantage of it.

As a case in point, I was recently asked to take on extra project by a colleague who's a new father - he said he needs to spend time with his baby and can't work as much as I do.

So when women do it you're saying that women shouldn't be in the workplace because they have extra work because women work less when they breed and are a detriment to the company?

I'm stuck in a vicious cycle. The more that my male colleagues have children, the more that I am expected to cover for them and the harder it becomes for me to conceive. You can see why I'm annoyed.

Welcome to being a man in the real world. Maybe you should have focused on something easy and soft like gender studies instead of mean old banking vice presidents?

It's time that this dynamic is openly discussed. Plenty of women my age in finance have the same problem.

You're strong and empowered. I'm sure you'll figure it out. Just marry down for some nice lazy artist type who is a gold digger and wants to be supported while fucking the "housewives" of the successful people in the penthouse next door. Like all the other guys.

It's not considered appropriate to push-back when all the new fathers (and there are quite a few of them) expect their still-childless female colleagues to work harder than they do.

So it's ok when childless men gets fucked over I'm guessing, funny how you just need to "man-up" and deal with it. Do you realize what a shit you've been all your life treating men how you're being treated?

Men and women are not the same.

Someone told you they were, the ones who lied to you.

Women can and will work as hard as men, but doing so often comes at a tangible physical cost.

Not when they pump out children.

This is why a lot of the senior women in banking are childless.

That's because they valued career over family. Just like men, except men have to be responsible for family, and you just can't take that responsibility.

By comparison, most of the men in banking have children.

So could you, but you just cannot escape your rat maze.

No you just won't sacrifice your social status to do so. The only part that's "hard" is the pregnancy part, and let's be honest, it's only the last 60 days or so that's really the big deal, so you take a month of maternity time, then get back on the stick.

You just don't want to. Your attitude is exactly why no one wants to hire women and thinks they shouldn't be near upper management, and play life on easy mode. You want all the privileges, but none of the responsibilities or sacrifices princess.

You're not forced to work at a lucrative position. Men make sacrifices to attain high level positions as well but they cannot sacrifice giving birth because men can't give birth.

Men in banking need to be more sensitive to this - and to stop crowing about their children and expecting childless female colleagues to pick up the slack when they start dumping work on them and taking extra time off.

Imagine if men that pick up the slack for women on maternity leave made a similar comment? The reason small companies we're exempted in the USA from the family and medical leave act is that they don't have enough employees to pick up the slack.

Higher position: longer hours, more responsibility, more pay.

Lower position: shorter hours, less responsibility, less pay.

Bitch wants to have her cake and eat it too. Hey guess what? if you want to have kid, relinquish your position as Vice President, take a lower position with less pay, and you can take paternity leave too.

But all is moot, because I can guarantee this bitch does NOT even have a man. She is looking for a handsome charming millionaire to sweep her of her feet like all career women. But there aren't many high caliber men looking to wife up post wall career hag in her mid 30s.

This article is deja vu, I'm certain someone posted/mentioned about men complaining that women who returned from maternity leave having less work initially, which makes sense for both sides because you get them back into swing then have them resume their usual load.

Actually, yes, I've seen this from the perspective of men saying the same thing, that's crazy.
