White Knighting White Knighting is when one man is trying to get a girl into his bed while in the same area as his friend, his friend (if he is a White Knight) will typically attempt to disperse the conversation by presenting his chivalrous words such as: "Have some respect for women, Johnny" or "Miss, he's just trying to get laid" while simultaneously attempting to get laid himself by showing respect to the women. A White Knight will never act chivalrous when he is not around another guy.

Hug Boxing / Entryism What they intend to be a "safe space" almost always turns into a circle-jerk of forced consensus and ends with every member repeatedly expressing the exact same opinion to each other, no matter the topic. Since the community is founded on unconditional love and support no matter how much of a tool a person is, these communities tend to attract tools and rational and useful advice is usually a rarity.

Concern Trolling In an argument (usually a political debate), a concern troll is someone who is on one side of the discussion, but pretends to be a supporter of the other side with "concerns". The idea behind this is that your opponents will take your arguments more seriously if they think you're an ally. Concern trolls who use fake identities are sometimes known as sockpuppets.

Tone Policing They will discard a true statement simply because they don't like how it was presented. This attitude is prevalent among emotional midgets, mental midgets, liberals and wimps.

They tend to be intolerant of any statement that isn't couched with empty platitudes and butt-kissing, while thinking themselves a model of tolerance. They are often also hypocrites.

Hugboxing: "Can't we all get along, let's all be friends both men and women, kum ba ya"

Concern trolling: "I really think you could benefit from seeing a therapist. It really isn't healthy to clearly being so bitter. I'm sure some girl hurt you in the past but it really is time to grow up and talk to some professional to get the help you clearly desperately need. Okay, maybe she was bad, but we're not ALL bad."

Tone Policing: "If you didn't call women foids or cunts, you'd actually potentially have people listen to you. If you were to assume the proper demeanor of speaking respectfully to and about women, we might just listen to you."

White Knighting is men coming to women's aid no matter the consequences or context.

ex: "That judge should have given that single mother less time in prison for beating up her child because don't you know how hard single mothers have it?"

ex: "I'll pull you from that car on the cliff even though we both might die, Madam!"

Hug boxing: not being straight up with people in order to protect their feelings.

ex: "You were just as beautiful as before you lost that 100 pounds, Gina, I didn't even notice"

Concern trolling: disingenuously expressing concern to derail the central discussion

ex: "How can you celebrate doing laser tag with your son--don't you know how upsetting it is to raise him in a culture of violence?"

Tone policing: disagreeing with how people are conversing without addressing the central discussion

ex: "It is so rude how he called his ex-wife who cheated on him a filthy whore."

I got your reply, but can't see it. This is the second time this has happened, and with a different person. I went to your profile and was able to see your reply "Jimmy Carter" there. So you're not as old as I thought you were. If you graduated when he was still in office, that means you're the generation before mine. I graduated when Regan's first term ended.

4. White Knighting: taking any woman's side so you can look like an upright citizen, without actually knowing the circumstances. Usually, involves unfairly attacking another man (physically, verbally, etc.) when he finally stands up for himself because "he" might be a danger. The naked motivation of white knights is their hope the woman will go home with the white knight and he'll get laid instead of the random guy he kicked around.

5. Hug Boxing / Entryism: In boxing, when the fighters hug, they have to be broken up so they can get back to the fight. As far as I know, here, instead of letting other people land their punches, you come in between and stand so close they can't strike.

6. Concern Trolling: expressing fake concern, that we're off topic, focusing on the wrong thing, so that we don't talk about what we want to talk about. Usually goes something like, "why are you talking about _ problem? We should do __."

7. Tone Policing: Same thing as above, but telling someone to change their tone, so whatever the truth becomes secondary and the conversation is derailed over "manners" on the internet with strangers.

Basically all the rules say is that you should let men say what they really feel and stop trying to derail speech because you don't approve in some way.
