Hey, why do adult males call adult women girls when looking for dates and addressing a roomfull of them while there are no minors around? Women don't do that.

Women call men boys or guys at times. Girl is complement of both boy and guy. Who really says gals? Gal is just a corruption of the word girl anyway. It's like Wyman

Bc its casual? Being a woman doesnt always award you the formality of being addressed as a lady, its weird to say "hey women", and as you said gal is uncomfortable to say for some reason. You said guys throughout this whole post - girls is the nearest equivalent other than gals (which is just a colloquial way of saying girls anyway.) Dont call anyone a child-molester for something so stupid wtf.

I know plenty of female friends (all in their thirties, some Phds, a doctor) who consistently reference "girls night out" whenever they get together. They don't even seem to care, and I personally could care less when women say, "oh, the boys are going out", etc. Words mean nothing, intention means EVERYTHING. Move on... Close this waste of a thread.
