UNITED NATIONS (AP) — When it comes to political power, women are totally outnumbered by men, accounting for less than 7 percent of the world's leaders and only 24 percent of lawmakers, according to the latest statistics.

Okay, if true, so what? If what they propose is factual, what is the conclusion to be drawn? That women vote for men? Scandalous! That men cannot represent the interests of their female constituents? That's awfully sexist and gender essentialist of you. That female voters are simpletons blinded and misled by 'MUH PATRIARCHY'? If so, why allow them to vote at all?

"Despite some positive movement, the overwhelming majority of government leaders remain male," said Gabriela Cuevas Barron, head of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

"That's why we believe we need to encourage parliaments to have affirmative action," she said.

You read it right. The mere presence of men must be...'corrected' by legally barring men from either running for, or holding, elected office, solely on the basis of being men, because women are just too goddamn stupid to vote for other members of their own tribe, regardless of their politics.
