It promotes a sense of elitism. That being a woman makes you special, with your own clubs and your own tribe.

Women aren't half as much into men as they are other women. They just love to sit around and talk about how great they are. The times I've evesdropped, the topic of men doesn't really come up. It's mostly about being special because you were born with boobs.

To a woman not being treated in a special manner is being an asshole to her. Treat a woman like you would treat another man and she thinks you're being an asshole. What women hate is the thought that men might start to seek a sense of self worth apart from sexual reproduction.
