That's really messed up but if they did that intentionally, then what's the purpose for doing so? To piss people off or something like that?

To basically force you to "accept" the chat and start using the feature (which AFAIK, absolutely no one -- in terms of Reddit users -- really wanted).

Either way, thanks for the help. I could've spent all the day trying to figure it out how to fix it if it wasn't for you.

I just happened to see your thread at the top of the "New" page... right before I headed off to sleep.

Same thing happened to me a while back. Took me several iterations of trying to "decline" the damnable things before I realized the fuckers had a subsequent "confirm" screen.

Which again, is well "hidden" -- and is thus contrary to any/all "rules" of UI design: not only are confirmation screens are supposed to be PROMINENT & "in your face"... but they should really ONLY be used when necessary (when some action is irreversible & destroys data etc) -- rejecting an unsolicited "chat" request does NOT meet any of the criteria.
