There is no "valid". Once it's in your hands your good to go. Although many countries will deny you if it's within 6 months if expiring.

I would not go and ask the airport to check if your passport is valid. Because what they are going to think is, "is this guy asking me to check to see if it's passport is a forgery?"

As long as the expiration dates that's printed in there is later than now, the passport is valid. Unless, I suppose, you're on some crazy watch list.

Its invalid after 10 years. Its from the state department. It is the ultimate form of ID.

But brand new, you're good. If it wasnt theyd snip the corner off, noticeably. You're good. I had them do that to my old 1, so I could keep an old Visa to 🇩🇪 as a souvenir

Gentlemen, my question was I called the hotline already and told them I never received it. We discussed a DS-86 which is not the same as "lost or stolen" but never received via mail. It was delivered to the correct address later that day. I don't believe it was reported "lost" but I would like to double, triple check.

Expect for security to escort you. The word escort has a different meaning. But do not let them blind fold and bend you over. They might say that's how they check the validity. But don't.
