As someone who's been kicking around here since before the sub had 30,000 members I've seen a few changes so I wanted to put into words what MGTOW, as an older member, means to me and why there is supreme and lasting power in a bunch of men going their own way.

First what it means to me:

As someone who has always been on the outside of things looking in I've always had a bit of a different perspective to most people. MGTOW is no exception. I was lured to the philosophy because I was incredibly disappointed in the dynamic between men and women. I was disappointed at how bound to their nature men and, especially, women could easily be so I looked for other answers. I was drawn to philosophy and stoicism and eventually came across MGTOW. After several years of thinking about the idea I came to appreciate the supreme freedom MGTOW lends. What I see a lot of today is people being contrarian for the sake of it. MGTOWs being anti-feminist or anti-liberal because it's fun to go against the main stream. Placing oneself in that box is, ironically, extremely restrictive because it forces the contrarian to define themselves based on what they are contrary to. Unfortunately this is exactly what third wave feminism is all about. MGTOW is the freedom to do what you want because you want to do it regardless of what is traditionally expected of you because you are part of society.

Why I think MGTOW as a philosophy is extremely dangerous to that society and why it is so vitriolically hated is because it disrupts that carnal, base nature that humans have existed under since the dawn of time. Walking away, refusing to play homo-sapien, refusing to comply to human nature is the supreme and unquenchable power of MGTOW. It transcends hating one group or another, placing yourself in the base-nature us vs. them box. It leaves the box behind altogether and leaves you to focus on you.

Before we let this group devolve into a liberals vs. conservatives, anti-feminist pile of reposted memes remember: the impact of refusing to subsist in base-nature society is far more powerful than a vote. Seize the inalienable right to not play the game.
