This was at work. Somehow the women I work with have this conviction we all have to bow and treat them as “women”.

Not me. I treat them as coworkers. One of them (the woman at the front desk) has a tendency to look at you slightly angry, like a “mother”, each time you do something she doesn’t like. She’s 44, I’m 30 (many coworkers on my age range), so she pulls it off often.

I never gave two shits and always treated her like an equal, no matter what. Yesterday, I had a couple of scheduled calls between 11am and 4pm. I got another call from another client at 11:30, so this woman passed it to me.

I had to leave my office because my coworker was on the phone with a client, so I moved next room (near the entrance), where this bitch works. She was talking to a female coworker at the time about a package she had just got from the mail.

I went to the end of the room and talked for like 4 minutes. This bitch try to ask me to leave in the middle of the call (after she was done talking to the other girl), and I told her ai couldn’t (there was nowhere else to go). When I was done, she was straight up pissed that I had invaded her space.

Not a single sign of thought about the fact it was an emergency, about the fact I had to answer, and about the fact she wasn’t the center of the fucking world.

Instead of apologizing, I ironically mocked her seriousness, made fun of her attempts to explain to me what being “educated” was, and left.

I didn’t lose frame, but I didn’t apologized either. I got tons of shit behind my back after that (a friend showed me the messages). Essentially, she stayed pissed for a couple of days, she was convinced “I would get punished one day”, “I’m not a god”, “she hates my arrogance” and “the fact I treated her like dirt”.

Some other bitch joined with “Nobody can’t tell me shit or I lose it” and “I can get away with it because I’m the boss’ poster boy”.

This is how women see men who stand up for themselves and refuse to treat them like princeses. Rationalization after rationalization.
