Society does not need fathers because of a lack of willing fathers

It is perhaps easy to look at the state of today's society and think, "We need more fathers."

This is true. We do need more fathers. It's the next thought, "I should step up and become a father," that gets you into trouble.

Society doesn't have a shortage of fathers because of a lack of willing volunteers. You being a willing volunteer won't help the problem.

The problem is the washout rate, and the utter disposability and lack of value placed on fathers today by the system. That's the true problem. You won't be solving it. You'll be living it.

Don't step up. Step back!
