I'm going to fight for the house. If a judge ultimately decides to sell it, fine. My emotions are wrapped up in it (and my fear about what the kids will think about the parent who moves out), to be sure, but financially I'm in a position to easily afford it and she would struggle even to refinance it. It doesn't help that we were having work done on the house (we're going to have a nice new kitchen, for example) and the affair was with one of the contractors. It's shocking how people you thought you knew--who you thought were family--can turn out to be awful human beings. Fortunately adultery=no alimony where I live.
