Throwaway since I know I will get attacked by other women/men that think I should feel empowered by being independent etc. I hope this post is received as a woman really trying. If this is the wrong place to post this then I am truly sorry. I am a daughter of woman that fits the description of many examples I’ve seen here. I ended up in this subreddit by seeing it linked in another subreddit. When I started seeing the posts I was dumbfounded bc it’s truly wrong for what our society has turned into, especially with the psyche of women that we are equal and deserve everything a man gets/wants. I didn’t realize there were men that weren’t assholes that also feel this way. I am in my mid twenties, attractive, smart and self sufficient, independent etc. I don’t want to be this way. My way of living automatically requires me to be horrible to men, which is why I pretty much stay to myself. I want to support my man and husband, provide a home where he is appreciated, a home that shows how thankful and grateful I am to be with him, a family and children that won’t go out in the world with viewpoints and attitudes that will contribute to the mess of society we have know. I was raised by a single mom and taught that the only way to get what you want was to use beauty, smarts etc to bait and switch. I watched her do this my whole life and was disgusted, even as a child/teenager. I’m honestly looking for feedback and advice on how to be reformed I guess. I attract men that pump and dump, want me to support them bc they don’t have a job, are a loser etc or that secretly hate me (whether they know it or not) bc of my success. I really want to be a woman that supports her man in the traditional sense bc that’s how it’s supposed to be. I wish I wasn’t successful by society’s standards bc I think I would have had a better chance of finding type of relationship and husband that saw he could have that in me.
