Women attempt suicide for attention. I'll be polite and say it's a cry for help, rather than reality, which is they just didn't feel special that day.

This is why they overdose on aspirin, 2 oxygen and some vodka, a bunch of vitamin C. Basically nothing that will do anything at all, but you get to feel like you accomplished something.

Number of women who actually get a shotgun and blow their head off? Close to zero. Because that's affective and you don't get attention points.

I've seen plenty of videos online where a woman would "attempt suicide" by jumping off a tall building, but would spend hours hanging from the window/railing, ultimately being saved by the police or fire fighters.

Pure attention whoring.

How about the whole "women suffer from depression more than men" myth. Love that one. Men just go undiagnosed more often than women and of course since society cares more about women they say that.

Women "attempt suicide" for the attention. This is why they choose ineffectual methods like overdosing and slitting their wrists. The ones who die are the ones who fuck it up by sheer happenstance, when really the goal is to appear self-destructive.

Men attempt suicide when they well and truly want to die. This is why they overwhelmingly choose methods like hanging, jumping, and gunshot, which all but guarantee the desired outcome.

Fact: a lot of attempted male suicides never go reported because when they "fail," it's because the man chose not to jump, not to pull the trigger, etc. Unlike finding some dumb cunt unconscious in the tub after she "OD's" on Tylenol, there is rarely any physical evidence of the attempt, and thus the suicidal tendencies are not discovered. A lot more men are suicidal than women but women make a bunch of pretentious showy drama about it so they get more sympathy.

Read a hilarious article a while back that posited that the reason women choose less successful methods (ie attempted overdoses etc) vs men's proclivity for more successful methods (ie bullet to the brain) was due to men being less thoughtful toward whoever has to clean up after them.

Even in death, you don't get a pass.

I'm in EMS. I've never been on a call where a woman has successfully committed suicide. They tend to take pills that won't kill them and cut their wrist, yes wrist, as in one wrist. It's rarely bleeding by the time we show up. Men on the other hand just eat a bullet or hang themselves...successfully.
