Single doesn't mean hermit. I have many friends, close family, and too many hobbies to mention. Single people are open to as rich a life as they desire.

If you specifically are a hermit, hopefully you're happy that way. If not, no one can change that but you. Your destiny is yours to achieve.

I'll just say that my gramps will always be my personal hero. Really cool dude.

His brother, my great uncle, is a close number 2, and then my pops rounds out the top three.

My great uncle was a dude, an athlete, and a scholar. He knew from his early teens that he wanted to be a teacher, he was always trying to guide people. By the time he was 23, and this was still in the '50s, he came to the conclusion that marriage wasn't for him. It caused some consternation between him and my gramps, but it was his choice.

My great uncle lived in a smallish town and was beloved by his students, an all-around top notch citizen, and the best baseball coach in the region. He poked around in all kinds of weird shit, what we call "conspiracy theories" today, entertained a number of women (from what he told me that included most of the married women in town, not condoning but wink-wink), sat on the town board (city council), and built cabinets in his shop that today would go for 10s of thousands of $$$s.

When I was 22 and about to graduate from college he gave me his copy of Esther Vilar's, The Manipulated Man, which I ignored for about six years (dumbass me).

Five years ago, at the tender age of 85, he walked out into his front yard, called the authorities, and then ended his life with a .357 magnum.

How could anyone know in advance the fate of any specific individual?

Guesses are easy enough but as far as I know there's no reliable way to see that far into the future.

So don't be frightened by women's self serving claims of "dying alone miserable". As if she was obligated by bullshit ceremonial distraction vows "for richer or poorer, in sickness and health, til death do you part"

At the end we are all alone. Death isn't a collaborative experience.

I think it depends on how much of a fuck a man gives. Some men truly couldn't care less about being single and they do whatever they want. But imo, I think when alone for long enough. People stop caring about their own health and situation. Why work so hard if you're not working for someone. Probably drugs and homelessness tbh. But then again. Being forever single could be a sign of mental illness and not chosen celibacy. It honestly depends
