Man Up!
We hear that a lot, more so now than aver before. I grew up hearing "Man Up" from everyone and it was everywhere. It was the anthem of our youth. It coloured everything we did as children and teens, and echoes in our thoughts now that we are adults. It was hammered into us daily by those who held sway over us: Teachers, Parents, Coaches and Mentors. It was a call to arms, to stand up and do, to be something other than what we were by implying that we were not men but boys.
"Stop being a child and Man UP!" "Stop being selfish and Man Up!" "Stop being disrespectful to women and Man Up!" We have come to associate "Man Up" with gynocentric shame tactics, but what is it really? It is a call to action to be a Man. A Man. Let's looks at what it means though.
When we "Man Up" we take a stand. Stiffen our resolve and do what must be done. Women want us to treat them like royalty, to cater to them and support them emotionally and financially, and use "Man Up" to try to make us step into the role of provider and stabilizer.
I counter with this: When we "Man Up" we instead need to take a stand for what is right for ourselves (To thine own self be true) and for society. We need to do right by our families and neighbours buy showing them an example of an enlightened man. Be moral, be inspirational, be the man we want to be, the man we need to be.
Let those who live in their blue billed worlds look to us and see who we are. They mock us because they fear and envy us. Who are we who have walked away from the abuse and the slavery of the modern world? Who are we to leave them behind? Let them watch as we go our own way, becoming the men we want to be and rise above the milling masses of emasculated sheep, the sad and broken men. The White Knights and the Cucks and the Feminazis are all right. We DO need to Man Up and reclaim our selves, our selfesteem and our self worth. We need to Man Up and provide for ourselves and to reclaim our own destinies. We need to Man Up and take care of ourselves because this world isn't interested in taking care of us at all.
So, when we go out into the world and encounter toxic people who want to throw spite and derision at us, and think to cow us with the shame chanting of "Man Up" just remember that as men we can Man Up and walk away from them all.
Man Up and be happy!
